Three Houses in Prey Veng Collapse into River

PREY VENG: On Monday afternoon, 2 January 2023, three houses—one made of stone and two made of wood—built next to a riverbank in Chumnic village, Kampong Popil commune, Pearang district, Prey Veng province, collapsed into the river and were completely destroyed.

The Pearang District Police Inspectorate stated that the owners of the three houses' were unable to evacuate immediately when the buildings collapsed, however, they confirmed that fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident.

Upon receiving the news, the governor of Pearang district, Jame Pra, deployed forces to assist in retrieving the owners' belongings out of their collapsed homes.
